Evanston has lost Affordable Housing to such an extent that there has been an exodus of longtime residents since the 1990s. Evanston has not followed the rules nor worked to stop the bleeding of low- to moderate-income residents. Instead, they are working against Affordable Housing.
For too long, those who are steering the Evanston ship have run Evanston into the ground to the detriment of Evanston residents and business owners. It is time to put in voices, who will speak against the establishment's reckless actions.
For generations, Evanston has treated Blacks as savages. They kept families from moving into certain areas and physically moved Black family homes to the 5th and 8th Wards. Even after Reparations was voted on in 2019, Evanston still treats its Black residents unjustly.
